Ron Laszewski named Coach of the West Senior Men's All-Star Team

Ron Laszewski has been named the West Senior Men’s All-Star Team coach.  Ron is a longtime resident of St. Louis, Missouri where he is the head coach of the St. Louis Bombers Rugby Football Club.  He successfully guided the Bombers during their transition from Division I into the Rugby Super League.  Ron has also coached the Missouri Rugby Union Boys Under-19 All-Stars for the past couple years.  Ron has a long history with the West, having played and coached with the West Seniors for over 20 years.  He is a former backrow player for the West, and also served as Team Captain for several seasons.  Ron was an assistant coach with Larry Naifeh, and together they guided the West to several National All-Star Championships in the 1980s and 1990s.  Ron assumes responsibility for the team from Steve Lewis (Denver Highlanders) who has stepped-down due to conflicts with his professional responsibilities.

Ron is teaming up with long-time Senior Men’s Team Manager, John Wolf, to assemble the coaching staff for the National All-Star Championships in December 2007.  In preparation, the West Senior Men are holding a training and trials weekend in St. Louis on November 10-11.  This weekend will feature matches against the Midwest Senior All-Stars.
